Our mission is to enhance local expertise and expand professional opportunities for scientists in ape range countries to develop innovative, locally-driven conservation solutions to ensure the survival of apes and protection of their habitats.

THE INSTITUTE FOR APE CONSERVATION SCIENCE

Welcome to the Institute for Ape Conservation Science (Ape Institute)! Located in Rwanda at the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, this new, exciting initiative focuses on increasing range country access to ape survey data, fostering collaborations, and creating new training and capacity building opportunities for ape country experts, researchers, and emerging scientists.
